Piatt County Comprehensive Plan

Welcome to the Piatt County Comprehensive Plan website! Over the next 18 months, we hope you will check back here for more information on the different planning stages, how you can get involved in the process, and for reviewing documents as they become available.

The goal of the planning process is to create a document that will provide a current basis for answering data requests, future decision making, making Piatt County more competitive for grants and funding, and for ruling on zoning related queries.

The Plan will include a section on existing conditions and trends, which will consider land use, environment, transportation, socioeconomic, utilities and services, agricultural resources and other factors.  Existing plans and policies from Piatt County municipal governments and other agencies will also be reviewed.  Analysis of these elements, in conjunction with updated population and employment projections through the year 2030 and identification of issues, forces, values, and desires will help formulate policy statements about future development in Piatt County

The final document will also include a proposed future conditions land use map and related policy statements about how development should occur.  An implementation plan will detail transportation and infrastructure needs, potential funding sources for these types of projects, and strategies for successfully achieving the Plan’s goals and policies.

We look forward to working with you on this important project. Please contact us at any time with questions, concerns, or input.
